Standards when drafted with meaningful yardstick are very useful for evaluating different systems. But a political generated yardstick is more likely a whip of confusion and fear.

It's funny how democracy works. The Republi-scams only need 51 votes to get things done, while the Demo-rats always need 60. I wonder what their excuse for not getting anything done would be if all 100 Senators were Demo-rats?
